What Makes Standing Seam Different
In a standing seam system, vertical metal panels run from ridge to eave and lock together at raised seams. The fasteners — clips that hold the panels to the decking — are completely hidden beneath the seams. No screw heads are ever exposed to rain, UV, or thermal movement.
This is the critical difference from exposed-fastener metal panel roofing. Over time, exposed screws back out, their neoprene washers degrade, and leaks develop at every penetration.
